The Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange will host an adoption party on Sunday evening.

According to MARE spokesperson Olivia Daprile, the event is being hosted in cooperation with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families to help find families for the children who are in state foster care.

The event will take place at Interskate 91 in Wilbraham from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The party will provide prospective adoptive parents with an opportunity to meet children and DCF social workers in a causal atmosphere.

Daprile said it will also allow people looking for more information about adoption to speak with MARE staff and families that are familiar with adoption.

There are over 850 children in Massachusetts waiting to be adopted.
