Bay Path University holds event to encourage communications majors

Hampden County

Coffee and communications brought dozens of students, faculty, and staff together Wednesday morning at Bay Path University!

The event “Wake Up Communications” highlighted the future of the communications industry and achievements made by students this field inside and outside the classroom.

Several members of local media outlets were panelists at Wednesday’s event, I was honored to be one of those panelists. Each of us shared our story of how we became involved in communications.

One Bay Path Senior told 22News why this event is important for the university.

Mia Ryder told 22News, “These events are really important because it’s just a way for us to kind of get the major out there. it’s not a very big major here so, their events we do it’s important to let students know that this is something they can major in, no matter what they’re interested in.”

The event hopes to inspire students to pursue a career in communications, as well as inform interested students about all the different sectors in this field.
