Happy birthday to Ryder Scott Fortier– Baystate Medical Center’s first baby of 2019.
First time parents Ryan and Samantha, of Monson, welcomed Ryder into the world at 2:08 a.m. He was due on January 6, but decided to come a few days early!
“I hoped on Christmas, I was like I hope you come soon,” Ryder’s mother Samantha Demetrius said. “Then all of a sudden he was here and I was like, ‘wait wait wait I’m not ready.’ But, I’m beyond ready. I’m so glad he’s here and healthy and he’s a happy good baby.”
Ryder weighed in at 7 pounds 1.4 ounces and is 20 inches long. He has all 10 fingers and toes.
The baby boy even matched his dad, both of them wore pieces of tie dye clothing.
