A local electric company celebrated Public Power Week with some big trucks.
Chicopee Electric and Light held its annual Big Truck Day at the Knights of Columbus on Granby Road Saturday.
The free event gave the community the chance to get a close-up view of dozens of trucks, cars and big rigs used in their communities.
Guests also got to meet local law enforcement, emergency responders, electric workers and military personnel.
One Chicopee resident told 22News what he learned during Saturday’s event.
“Yeah, how some of the machinery here was built,” said Logan Biggins. “Like how there’s special liquids in some of the tires so they can stay still for weights.”
Free flu shots were also provided at the event by Walgreens Pharmacy.
