Bob “The Bike Man” gets new storage location in Springfield

Hampden County

Bob “The Bike Man” Charland has a new storage space to work out of in Springfield.

Last month, 22News told you that Charland was in need of a new space after he ran out of storage space and has bikes being stored at multiple locations throughout western Massachusetts.

That’s where Tom Dennis stepped in and is allowing Charland to rent a Lyman Street warehouse for $10 a month.

“The Bike Man” will be able to store bikes and continue to work on his bags for the homeless there.

“Right now we’re up to almost 2,000 bikes in stock,” Charland told 22News. “So we’re gonna be able to get these bikes done for the community and we’re booking into 2020 with schools.”

“The Bike Man” plans to move all the bikes into the new space on Saturday.
