A Brimfield woman is dead after an accident on I-290 Thursday morning.
State Police say the 19-year-old Brimfield woman and three other occupants were traveling eastbound on I-290 in Marlborough around 10 a.m. in a Dodge Caliber, east of Exit 25 when a Jeep Cherokee crashed into the back of the car.
All four occupants of the Dodge Caliber were taken to UMass-Lakeside Hospital, where the 19-year-old woman was pronounced dead. Her name has not been released.
The driver of the Jeep is identified as a 25-year-old man from West Boylston, who was also taken to the same hospital.
State Police was assisted by the Marlborough Fire Department and EMS, Northborough Fire Department and EMS, and MassDOT.
The crash remains under investigation by State Police with the assistance from the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and Crime Scene Services Section.
Further investigation will determine if charges will be sought, State Police added.
