The snow made for a special feeling for this evening’s “Night of Light” in West Springfield.
The Cancer House of Hope’s annual Luminaria event returned to Storrowton Village Thursday night.
People donate the luminary bags with the name of someone they lost, or who is in their journey to fight cancer.
The money raised pays for the free services offered by cancer House of Hope.
“People like to come and find the bag they’ve dedicated,” said Joe Jane, director of the Cancer House of Hope. “Take pictures of it, and take it home if they like.”
“Was floored by the warmth and engagement and assistance that I received and I still work with some of the groups and facilitators there,” said Irvinia Scott-Robbins. “And give back to others now.”
Cancer House of Hope is located on Route 20 in West Springfield at 1999 Westfield Street. They welcome anyone affected by cancer, and all of their services are free.
