Car crashed into Holyoke medical office building

HOLYOKE, Mass (WWLP) – A car crashed into a medical office building in Holyoke on Thursday.

According to Holyoke Fire Department Lieutenant Michael Boucher, an SUV crashed into a building at 18 Hospital Drive around 12:57 p.m., with a female driver still inside.

Lt. Boucher told 22News, the driver was removed from the vehicle and taken to Holyoke Medical Center for treatment.

Fire department crews evacuated the building and shut off the utilities as a precaution.

The incident caused structural damage to two examination rooms and they will be closed until the damage is repaired. The rest of the building has been deemed safe to use.

According to the fire department, no further information is available in regards to the severity of the driver’s injuries or how the accident happened. No injuries were reported from any patients or staff inside the building at the time of the accident.
