Car fire reported on Beech Street in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Crews were called to a car fire on Beech Street Friday night. 

Springfield Fire Department spokesman Dennis Leger told 22News crews assisted in putting out the car fire on 33 Beech St. after 10 p.m.

Leger said the car on fire was a 2004 Honda Accord parked in front of a home.

The Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad determined the cause to be an electrical malfunction in the engine compartment.
