The Center for Human Development unveiled a new outdoor basketball court in Chicopee Wednesday.
The new court is located at the Goodwin House, a substance-use treatment home for young men.
CHD’s President told 22News the basketball court is part of the therapy to help the men during their time in recovery.
“They like to practice. It keeps them focused,” said Jim Goodwin. “It keeps them working together, doing things together. It gives them something to do in between the hard work they do here.”
The new court was made possible due to contributions from several local businesses including Big Y Foods, Home Depot and Pioneer Valley Concrete Service in Chicopee.
