Father Ephraim Peters has been officially assigned to Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, after serving the parish interim for over six years.
A welcoming ceremony was held at the church Sunday in celebration of his assignment.
This marks the first time in more than 60 years that the church has had a new pastor. Father Peters spoke with 22News on his new assignment, after years of service.
“Wonderful, kind, loving, warm people. It means a great deal to me because I feel like I have a home here now,” he said. “I’m part of them. They truly are my family in my heart.”
The church’s previous pastor, Father Peter Katopis served over six decades.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the parish.
