CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Members of Chicopee Comprehensive High School's Key Club are traveling south to do community service work at our nation's capital.
Last school year, the club dreamed of going to D.C. and doing community work to give back to our country and to honor those who have sacrificed for us. Now their dream has become reality.
Throughout the week, the club will be doing community service at the Vietnam Wall and National Mall.
"We're just trying to grow personally and help others in the community," club member Stephanie Mahar told 22News, "and to help out any veterans that really need it."
Students took part in a lot of fundraising to afford the trip.
Students will also be taking tours of the many historical monuments in Washington.
They will be returning home Sunday.
