Hampden County

Members of Chicopee Comprehensive High School’s Key Club are at our nation’s capital helping with some community work.

The club is doing community service at the Vietnam Wall and National Mall this week.

This was something the club talked about doing last year, and this year it has been made a reality.

Chicopee Comp. Vice Principal Joe Morisette said he’s proud of his students for honoring those who have sacrificed their lives for us. “The Vietnam Wall is breathtaking and they’re going to be part of restoring the beauty of that wall and what it stands for.”

Jennifer Cheng, Susan Cheng “I think it’s really rewarding and I’m just really breath-taken that we’re actually here and actually serving the country.”

The students will also get to tour some of the many historical monuments in Washington.

They are returning home Sunday.
