CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Chicopee Fire Department unveiled their new fire engine Thursday morning.
The new engine is replacing another engine that has been used by the department for the past 17 years. Funds for the $525,000 engine were approved by the mayor and the city council.
Chicopee Fire Chief Dan Stamborski talked to 22News about the department new edition, “We respond to so many incidents throughout the year, last year between ambulance and fire calls approximately 14,000 calls, so having a reliable piece of equipment is extremely important to us when the need arises to use it.”
Engine 8 went into service on Monday.
