Chicopee Fire Department rescue dog from riverbank

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Chicopee Fire Department made a rescue Saturday. 

An animal control officer contacted the police about two dogs that needed to be rescued from a riverbank. 

According to the Chicopee Fire Department Facebook page, one dog ran away, but the other dog was stuck in the brush.

Chicopee Fire Deparment’s Engine 5 was called to the riverbank. With life jackets and safety lines, they were able to cut away the debris and free the dog. 

He was left in the care of the Animal Control officer.
