Chicopee, Holyoke police rescue woman from Connecticut River

A woman was rescued from the Connecticut River Saturday night.

According to Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk, Chicopee police received a call from a woman around 10:30 p.m.  Saturday night.

The officers tracked her phone to the area of the Holyoke bridge and train tracks. When they arrived the woman jumped into the water.

The underwater recovery team, along with Chicopee and Holyoke Police were able to get her onto a rescue boat safely.

She has been sent to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
