Chicopee police cracking down on distracted drivers

Hampden County

Members of the Traffic Patrol Unit were out on Tuesday, enforcing the state’s texting while driving laws.

Officer Mike Wilk told 22News in a one hour span, nearly a dozen cars were pulled over for distracted driving offenses.

If you get caught texting and driving in Massachusetts, it can cost you a $100 for a first offense.  

Drivers under 18 can also lose their license for 60 days.
