Chicopee police recruit resigns after OUI crash

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Chicopee police recruit facing OUI charges has resigned.

Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk told 22News the recruit spoke with Police Chief William Jebb on Monday and tendered his resignation from the department.

The recruit has been summonsed to court to face charges of OUI liquor and marked lanes violation in connection with a single-car crash on Pendleton Avenue early Saturday morning.

His name is not being released until the investigation is complete and complaints are returned from the court.
