Chicopee residents dealing with early pothole season

Hampden County

Western Massachusetts drivers are dealing with an early pothole season.

Potholes can, at the very least, knock your front-end out of alignment. They’ll also damage tires and rims, and in extreme cases, break the axles on your car

One particular trouble spot in Chicopee is Old Fuller Road Extension, a well-traveled road that’s filled with potholes. Chicopee resident Pierre Dorval told 22News drivers see pothole damage there every year.

“I’ve seen people pulled over broken down, fixing tires cars, laying down flat out here in the road,” said Dorval. “Can’t move because of damage or something from the potholes.”

You’ll want to drive slowly on secondary roads so you can see the potholes and avoid them.

Residents can also report potholes to your DPW.
