MGM Springfield is in the final stages of planning for the casino’s grand opening.
An informational meeting was held at Springfield City Hall Monday night where city council members got a chance to review details related to MGM’s sign plan.
Several proposed signs were looked at including hotel signs and signs that’ll be featured inside the casino’s retail stores and restaurants.
Michael Fenton, Chair of Casino Oversight Committee for Springfield City Council, said, “We were excited to get those plans under our belt and move forward with the largest development in the history of Western New England.”
Full hearings will take place in the near future where final votes on the casino signs will be cast.
MGM is slated to open in less than two months, on August 24.
