WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – After several trucks have been stuck in overpasses on East Mountain Road in Westfield, the Westfield City Council has taken action.
The Westfield City Council hopes to eventually have the bridge at the bottom of East Moutain Road raised. The project would involve the State and Federal government.
Railroad tracks would have to be raised starting 2 miles from the bridge.
Right now the bridge off of Route 20 has such a narrow road, two passenger cars hardly fit under it at the same time.
The bridge that was built in 1914 has been a problem for years. The Westfield City Council hopes to get it fixed.
