Cold spring temperatures can’t keep residents from local ice cream shops

Hampden County

It may be Spring but it’s still a little cool out.

Tuesday evening’s weather didn’t stop people from lining up outside for a cool after dinner snack.

Dozens of people stopped for ice cream at Rogers Place in Chicopee Tuesday night. Rogers has been open for 45 years, and just re-opened up for the season two weeks ago.

And even though we could be in for a wintry mix Wednesday, one person said that won’t stop them for indulging in their favorite frosty treat.

“It’s been warm. Then it gets cold and now it’s gonna snow,” Jenisiah Humber told 22News. “I mean personally I’m still gonna come get ice cream tomorrow. I don’t think it’s too cold for ice cream. It’s never too cold for ice cream with me.”

Rogers Place is one of several western Massachusetts creamery’s that have already opened for the 2019 season.
