Another marijuana dispensary might be coming to downtown Springfield.
Springfield residents met with Diem Cannabis Wednesday night to ask questions, voice their opinions and provide feedback on the proposed dispensary.
Diem Cannabis is applying for a host community agreement and special permit to open a marijuana dispensary at Hampden Savings Bank on Main Street in Springfield.
Diem Cannabis spoke about their plans to prevent the diversion of their products to minors, plans for security and how they plan to positively impact the community.
The CEO of Diem Cannabis told 22News the company wants to come to Springfield because of the revitalization of the city.
“Springfield is the city of firsts, and we love the history of innovation here,” said Chris Mitchen. “We love the up and coming nature of this city.”
The company plans to invest about $1 million into renovating the historic building built in 1918.
