Glenwood Street house fire extinguished with no injuries reported

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Firefighters were able to control and put out a house fire on Glenwood Street in Springfield Friday late afternoon. 

The Springfield Fire Department said they crews responded to a working fire at 124 Glenwood Street shortly after 4:15 p.m. No injuries were reported. 

A photo shared by the fire department shows the back of the home heavily damaged as crews continued to work.

Fire officials believe the fire might have started on the rear porch of the home. 

The Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad are investigating the cause.
