Crews repair ruptured gas line on Belmont Ave, nearby residents evacuated

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Residents were evacuated from their homes Saturday morning as crews worked to maintain a ruptured gas line in Springifeld.

According to the Springfield Fire Department, a gas line was ruptured near 306 Belmont Ave in Springfield.

Belmont Avenue was closed from Dickinson to Crystal Avenue as crews from Columbia Gas worked to secure the leak.
