After Sunday’s deadly accident in Springfield, residents say cars often speed through their neighborhood.
A woman was killed when the car she was riding in knocked down a utility pole on Page Boulevard Sunday afternoon.
The accident reconstruction investigation closed the busy intersection of Page Boulevard and Roosevelt Avenue.
The crash knocked out power to two thousand households, and sent the driver to the hospital.
“I mean no matter how many signs you put and how many police you got around are going to rush all the time,” Miguel Valentin told 22News. “It’s a lot of life driving around and little kids; family and they will stop rushing around.”
Springfield Police Spokesman Ryan Walsh told 22News the car was probably speeding.
The engine was thrown from car by the impact. No word on the driver’s condition.
