SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Hundreds came out to support Common Threads, an event to celebrate women and their success stories.
Thursday night’s event was hosted at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Springfield and it honored the mission of Dress for Success, an organization working to empower women to achieve economic independence.
The organization provides professional clothing and tools to help women succeed.
The executive director of Dress for Success told 22News when women overcome obstacles and become economically successful, they’re much more confident.
“The women have a sense of purpose, they have a sense of meaning in their lives and it’s really incredible,” said Margaret Tantillo. “The women actually hold themselves differently because of the confidence that they have.”
Women who have gone through the Dress for Success program spoke at Thursday night’s event.
