Drivers frustrated with increase of potholes on local roads

Hampden County

A problem that western Massachusetts residents are all too familiar with…potholes.

Potholes have been a reoccurring issue on Riverdale Road in West Springfield. One driver told 22News, she’s come close to getting a flat tire while driving on the road.

“Really bad right here on Riverdale Road,” Easthampton resident Kasandra Gendron described. “I’ve gone over one and thought I got a flat tire. You know when it’s really loud and you pull over…you’re like ‘wait a minute.'”

The freeze-thaw cycle of winter weather plays a major role in creating potholes.
