EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – East Longmeadow held its annual tree lighting Friday night with a new and improved display this year.
The celebration was held at the First Congregational Church to mark the 65th anniversary of the annual lighting of the East Longmeadow Lions Club Christmas tree.
Dozens came out to see the upgraded display which, for the first time features 23-hundred energy efficient LED bulbs.
“We’re very happy with the turnout,” said Jerry Celetti, East Longmeadow Lion’s Club president. “We always have a big turnout here. It’s become an annual tradition for a lot of families over the years.”
The East Longmeadow Lions Club is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.
