Over the last few weeks it’s been getting pretty dry, but most farmers seem to be doing okay.
It was pretty busy at Calabrese Farms in Southwick on Wednesday, and there are plenty of fruits and vegetables available.
Despite some hot and dry weather over the last couple of months, the spring and summer crops have been doing pretty well.
Calabrese explained that “When it’s hot and dry, the quality is good as you can control some water give it a little water when it needs it.”
He said that the rain we had Monday evening was very beneficial. Right now there are plenty of strawberries available and they’ll be around for about another week.
There are also plenty of flowering plants still available too.
Tom Calabrese says they expect to have corn around the 4th of July.
