A historic savings bank building in Springfield is closing its doors.
NAI Plotkin is selling the former Hampden Savings Bank building on Main Street in downtown Springfield.
RLTY Development Springfield bought the building for $285,000. The company says they plan to transform the former bank into a retail cannabis dispensary.
“Bringing up a point with parking, that in and of itself, just presents another challenge,” said Tom Aurigemma, of Ashfield. “I think we should wait and see – just see how it plays out in Northampton more.”
The company still awaits approval from the CCC and the city.
