Former Springfield Pastor: More work needs to be done in revitalizing city

Hampden County

The Alden Baptist Church kicked off a three-night revival event at American International College in Springfield Wednesday night.

The revival features music and speakers focused on restoring faith and community.

Former Springfield Pastor, Reverend Dr. Howard-John Wesley, said there is more work to be done in revitalizing the city.

“Looking to bring a message that is relevant to a city that is near and dear to my heart, but I have also been heartbroken to hear of violence and some of the other issues that plague the city,” said Rev. Dr. Wesley. “So I’m grateful to be able to come back and be part of the pastor’s vision to rebuild the city.”

The revival will continue Thursday and Friday night at the Griswold Theater at American International College.
