Forty students earn high school equivalency credentials at STCC

Hampden County

Dozens of adult learners  reached an academic milestone tonight.

The Student Adult Learning Center at Springfield Technical Community College held it’s annual “HiSET” celebration Tuesday evening.

Forty students earned their high school equivalency credentials at STCC during the past academic year.

The graduates filed in wearing their caps and gowns while being cheered on by their family and friends.

“I’m glad that I graduated. I want to pursue a career in law enforcement so I’m happy that I can now do that. Now that I have my diploma I’m able to show that I’m ready for that,” said Springfield resident Charlie Ibarra.

Charlie Ibarra added that he plans to continue his education at STCC.
