SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Celestial Praise Church of God hosted their “Hello Neighbor Community Festival” on Saturday.
According to the City of Springfield, the free community event took place at the church on Wilbraham Road in Springfield. At the event, was a bounce house, a sip and paint, face painting, story-time, prizes, free food, grocery packages, and games, according to the Celestial Praise Church of God’s website.
Organizers told 22News this festival brings in hundreds of locals every year for people within the community to interact with their neighbors.
“The intention is to bring the community together,” said Andrew Daubon, the Praise Church of God Senior Pastor. “We have small businesses, the police, we have the fire department…. and it’s a day of fun, it’s a day of fellowship.”
The annual festival is part of an effort to give back to the community with health and wellness vendors, like the Men of Color Health Awareness, providing resources and information about health.
Mayor Domenic Sarno along with Celestial Praise Church of God Senior Pastor Andrew C. Daubon and Rev. Michaelia Daubon with the Celestial Praise church community were in attendance at Saturday’s event.
