A fundraiser to help victims of domestic violence was held in Eastern Hampden County Thursday.
Palmer’s Domestic Violence Task Force with help from the Steaming Tender Restaurant hopes to raise more than $1,000. The Taskforce believes without help, victims of domestic violence are trapped in a vicious cycle.
“A lot of times, women have a place to go, they don’t have family support, and they don’t have the financial support to leave,” said Kerry Hedges, vice president of the Palmer Domestic Violence Task Force.
The money raised helps foster awareness among high school students, and Outfit, an Eastern Hampden County shelter for domestic violence victims.
