Garage and first floor of Feeding Hills home heavily damaged from fire

FEEDING HILLS, Mass. (WWLP) – A family is without a place to stay after a fire in Feeding Hills Tuesday morning.

Agawam Fire Deputy Chief Frank Matuszczak told 22News, firefighters were called to 107 Red Fox Drive for a garage fire around 11:00 a.m..

The fire started in the garage, but eventually spread to the house. The garage was destroyed and the entire first floor of the house was heavily damaged.

Everyone inside the home was able to get out without any injuries but the family that lived there will have to find another place to stay.

Photos sent in by a viewer via ReportIt show heavy black smoke coming from the area of the fire at around 11:30 a.m.

Agawam police blocked off the road while firefighters put out the fire. Firefighters are still trying to figure out how the fire started.
