If you plan on going to the Parade of the Big Balloons in downtown Springfield on Friday, you may spot everyone’s favorite holiday villain… the Grinch!

He’ll be walking in the parade, before heading over to the Springfield museums for “Grinchmas.”

The event will feature a meet and greet, a mini sleigh race, a sing-along, and screening of the animated classic. The event, which runs until 5:00 P.M., is free, with admission to the museum.

After that, the Quadrangle will be lit up with dazzling holiday lights. The annual “Lighting of the Quadrangle” will feature appearances by Santa Claus and the Grinch, as well as music from the Sci Tech Band, and free cookies and hot chocolate. The event will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
