Halloween came early for babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Monday, parents who have babies in the NICU chose costumes for their babies. The costumes were put together by the nurses who work in the NICU.
22News found out why the hospital puts these events together for the parents and babies in the NICU.
“It’s one of those benchmarks of having a child and a baby is to dress them up. So being able to provide them this opportunity brings us all joy,” said manager of NICU nurseries, Stephanie Adam.
One of the nurse practitioners in the NICU puts together a 5K every year and the money raised goes towards putting this event and many others together throughout the year.
