The latest tenant announced for MGM Springfield’s $960 million resort-casino is a familiar name in local retail. MGM Springfield announced in a tweet Thursday morning that Hannoush Jewelers will be opening a new store at their casino.
The Springfield-based jewelry store chain operates locations throughout the eastern half of the United States. Locally, Hannoush operates stores at the Eastfield Mall, Holyoke Mall, Hampshire Mall, Berkshire Mall, and in downtown Northampton.
“My family and I are beyond excited to be opening at MGM Springfield. We’re proud to be a part of this amazing project that is giving Springfield the growth in jobs and business opportunities it needs,” Camille Hannoush said in a news release sent to 22News. “In keeping with MGM’s commitment to exceptional experiences and service, my daughters and I will be focusing our time in the store to deliver on that promise.”
Another local retailer, Bernardston-based Kringle Candle, announced plans to open a store at MGM Springfield last year. Indian Motorcycle, which traces its heritage back to Springfield, will also operate a retail store at MGM.
Construction on the South End casino is continuing at a rapid pace, as crews put the finishing touches on the complex. MGM Springfield’s resort is scheduled to open to the public on August 24.
