Holyoke parents are complaining that poorly-placed piles of dirt are creating an unsafe situation for kids using Kenny Field.
Jason Carney told 22News excavators dumped these piles of dirt here a couple of weeks ago.
He said they take up several spaces in this small parking lot on Bemis Road, preventing parents from safely dropping their kids off for soccer practice.
“They have to park horizontally on the side of the road,” said Carney. “And they gotta unload their kids. With these cars coming by, they come by pretty fast. It creates a dangerous situation that doesn’t need to be there.”
Carney said he’s waiting for the parks department to respond to his emails.
22News contacted Mayor Alex Morse he said he’d provide an update Friday.
