Police are investigating after a shooting near downtown Holyoke Sunday afternoon.
Holyoke Police Lt. McCoy told 22News a man showed up at the Holyoke Medical Center emergency room with a gunshot wound.
McCoy said the victim was shot in the arm and that the bullet possibly went through his arm and into the chest cavity area. The victim was driven to the hospital in a private car.
Police are investigating on Appleton and Oak streets where they believe the shooting happened.
Officers were first notified about the shooting around noon.
The victim has been taken to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield for treatment. No word on his condition.
