Holyoke Police investigating shooting on Sargeant Street

HOLYOKE, Mass (WWLP) – Holyoke Police are investigating a shooting that happened near Sargeant and Beech Streets on Friday morning.

Holyoke Police Lt. Jim Albert told 22News, police received a call about multiple shots fired that they believe happened in a parking lot next to the Quick Stop store at 172 Sargeant Street at 8:17 a.m.

Police allegedly found shell casings in the area.

Albert said while police were investigating the area, a 33-year-old man from Holyoke with a gunshot wound in his leg walked into Holyoke Medical Center for treatment.

Police are still looking for a suspect as well as video and more information about the shooting. If you have any information about this incident you are asked to call 413-322-6940 to speak with the criminal investigations bureau.

Police also tended to the schools and senior center in the area to ensure everyone’s safety. No one else was hurt and school was not disrupted.
