Holyoke showcased its commitment to equality of all of its citizens Wednesday evening.
They raised the Pride Flag outside City Hall.
People, as well as their pets, were sporting their pride colors.
Holyoke Mayor Alex Morse said raising the flag sends the message that Holyoke is a welcoming and inclusive place for all people.
“Our community still has a long way to go to have a full and inclusive acceptance in our community and our society,” Mayor Morse told 22News. “So, to do our small part by raising the Pride Flag today.”
Mayor Morse said this is the sixth year that Holyoke has recognized and celebrated LGBT Pride Month.
