Holyoke Salvation Army provides Thanksgiving turkeys for families in need

Hampden County

Generous donations during the past week have made it possible for the Holyoke Salvation Army to provide a Thanksgiving turkey to more than 100 families in need.

One hundred and forty turkeys filled a freezer that was empty a little more than one week ago.

Jose Hernandez, his wife, and three children will enjoy a turkey dinner thanks to the Salvation Army donors.

“I feel happy, but sometimes we don’t get enough and you people. I feel happy as a family,” said Hernandez.
