Holyoke’s St. Patrick’s Commitee holds 2nd annual Dobbin Tartan Party

Hampden County

We’re now just a little more than two weeks away from St. Patrick’s Day and Holyoke is continuing its celebrations.

Holyoke’s St. Patrick’s Committee held their second annual Dobbin Tartan Party Saturday afternoon. The family-friendly event celebrates the Yankee Pedlar House horse, Dobbin, as he begins his second year of retirement at the Holyoke Merry-Go-Round.

Children enjoyed unlimited rides on the merry-go-round and face painting. There was also live Irish music.

Sheila Moreau told 22News, “As a parade committee we don’t have a lot of events that are not banquet style for adults, so this brings people of all ages together. We’ve had amazing sponsors. The community has been so supportive of this event.”

Ten percent of the proceeds from Saturday’s event will benefit the Dobbin Restoration Fund.
