A home and church are damaged after a car fire in Springfield early Sunday morning.
According to Springfield Fire Department Spokesperson Dennis Leger, firefighters were called to 32 Burr Street at approximately 5:23 a.m. for a car on fire in the driveway.
Leger said the fire caused $10,000 worth of damage to the siding of a two family home at 32 Burr Street. The fire also caused under $1,000 worth of damage to the Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church.
Leger told 22News the fire did not cause enough damage to the church to delay early morning services and the residents of the damaged house are still able to live in their home.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad.
