SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A fire at Acushnet Avenue in Springfield is out, according to the Springfield Fire’s social media page. One firefighter and one tenant were taken to the hospital, but according to Springfield Fire Captain Drew E Piemonte the firefighter’s injuries were not serious.

All Springfield companies responded to the fire and one lane was closed on Main Street. Seven people were left without a place to live along with two dogs and one cat. The Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad is investigating the fire.
