SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) Springfield firefighters were called to respond to a house fire in the Bay neighborhood.

Firefighters spent hours trying to put out the fire on the second floor of a home on Edgewood Street. This incident is currently under investigation as officials determine the cause of the fire.

At this time as fire officials continue to investigate the scene Bay Street and Edgewood Street are closed until further notice.
