Interskate 91 South in Springfield holds benefit for those impacted by Florence

Hampden County

One local skating center raised money for people hundreds of miles away.

Interskate 91 South donated 50 percent of its admissions Sunday to benefit the Red Cross’ efforts to help the victims of Hurricane Florence.

Interskate 91 South told 22News, Sunday’s event is to help those get back on their feet.

“We like to do a lot of things to benefit any communities that we can help out,” said Angela Roux session manager. “It helps to draw in a lot of people and it’s just a nice thing to do for everybody.”

The Red Cross has served more than 300,000 meals, and provided shelter for thousands of people impacted by the Hurricane last week.
