One important factor people consider when they’re looking for a new city to live in is safety.
On Friday, USA Today released its list of worst cities to live in your state and Springfield made the list for Massachusetts.
According to the ‘What is the worst city to live in your state? Find out’ article, Springfield ranks as the worst city to live in Massachusetts with a population of 154,079.
The article says in 2016, there were 1,031 violent crimes reported per 100,000 residents in Springfield, nearly three times the national rate of 386 incidents per 100,000 Americans and the third most of any city statewide.
Hartford was also on the list as the worst and poorest city to live in Connecticut.
The worst cities to live in every state were identified by 24/7 Wall Street by creating an index of 37 measures including crime, economy, education, environment, health, housing, infrastructure, and leisure.
